Permanent hair removal

Laser can give you long term hair depilation. The treatment is based on selective thermolysis: melanine within the pilous follicle which absorbs light energy and destroys it.

Several sessions with a 6 to 8 week interval are necessary to get rid of the hairs on the same zone, because other hairs are still growing.

Preliminary advice is necessary for testing to determine the kind of treatment according to the colour and thickness of the hair.

During the second session depilation is done on shaved skin or on depilated skin with a depilatory cream .Waxing is not advised during the whole treatment as waxing decreases the number of follicules to be eliminated.

Blotchiness, varicosity and angioma

Blotchiness is due to capillary brittleness. The distension of small blood vessels is located on the nose, cheeks and sometimes on the forehead or chin.

Electro-coagulation coagulates skin vessels by using a low electric power. Results are spectacular. One session is sufficient.

• Laser is a thermal photocoagulation
• With different programs, the concentrated light beam will have a thermal effect on the derma to eliminate quite rapidly vascular lesions, rosacea and varicosities. Two to five sessions within 3 to 6 weeks will be needed.

Birth marks

Birth mark is a vascular malformation of capillaries which concerns three new born out of a thousand. Birth marks are flat and grow as the child gets older. Therefore they widen and get darker with age.

We use laser to erase birth marks. The device sends out onto the skin laser impulses. Laser light is absorbed by blood vessels on the birth mark zone alone.

Laser can select blood vessels in vascular lesions without damage to the tissue around it. It is used to erase birth marks on new born as well as on young children.

Wrinkles and laser

To eliminate or reduce wrinkles two methods are used:

• Erasing wrinkles with laser: Photo-rejuvenation.
• Skin abrasion on wrinkle to lessen the groove by erasing the skin to the hollow of the wrinkle.

CO2 laser and Erbium laser are used to remove wrinkles and are called resurfacing lasers, layer by layer abrasion on skin surface at a precise depth computer set retracting the skin just as collagen regeneration and fibre contraction.

Whether we are dealing with eye wrinkles or mouth wrinkles or a complete facial treatment, results are excellent but the aftermath is quite difficult.

Erbium laser: doctors prefer erbium laser where scars heal quicker than CO2 laser, and the aftermath is less complicated.
