Eyelids : Blepharoplasty

Loose eye lids, pockets and wrinkles under the eyes give a tired and sad look.

Eyelid surgery helps solve the problem. Local anaesthesia and a sedative is sufficient.

For the upper eye lids, the surgeon cuts off the excess skin as well as any fat if necessary. The scars are hidden in the eye-lid line.

As for the lower eye lids, the fatty pockets are taken out on the inner part of the eye lid, with no visible scar on the outer lid.

In case of excess skin and or fat the incision is done under the eye lashes.

Ecchymosis may last from ten to fourteen days, and the patient may use a cover up and sun glasses to hide the ecchymosis.

Results are noticeable within a month, the scars become soft and gradually fade, a thin white line remains.
