Receeding or proeminent chin
Plastic surgery on the chin can correct a receding or prominent chin. Surgery can only be done at the end of osseous growth at 17 years of age. When the chin is too receded, a silicon implant or bone transplant (taken from the body) is the solution.
When the chin is prominent, the osseous excess is withdrawn. Blood tests and X-rays are requested before surgery.
Both cases require a local anaesthesia with the anaesthesiologist surveillance, surgery lasts less than an hour.
As the incision is orally there are no visible scars. The reasorbable thread will be reabsorbed. For 3 to 4 days a wash mouth and semi liquid food will be taken. Results are excellent.
Before nose surgery a chin study is necessary and vice-versa. Nose and chin surgery is profile-plasty which gives spectacular results.
Double chin
In double chin remodelling, liposculpture is used. The technique is remarkably safe and simple. Excess fat on chin and face is removed. Fat is aspirated in fine cannulas through tiny incisions behind the ears. The technique chosen depends on the type of skin. The surgeon decides which technique is the best for each case. A tight bandage is sometimes necessary.
This type of surgery does not require a stay at the clinic, and only a slight pain is felt. The results last over time, and results show within two months' time.
Recent progresses in liposculpture, with the use of finer cannulas, allow surface gestures which give excellent results on zones which were seen as difficult as for the face oval and cheeks.
